game controller

Hey, Anybody got any ideas when I try to add a USB joystick it isn't added to the game controllers, and when I try to add it to the list I get a message saying this is not available at my system priveleges and I should log in as an administrator. However I only have one account on Vista set up and this is an administrator account.
As a side note, anybody also have problems with the sound in pro evolution soccer 5 / winning eleven 9?

Try installing the latest drivers. I have a PSX to USB adapter I bought at Radio Shack. Worked great in XP but Vista would not recognize it. Finally downloaded the latest drivers from Radio Shack's website and now it runs fine.

Hi Goober Same problem here re: the not logged on as admin. I'm using 3 CH devices which are apparently ready to use according to vistas device installed box, after pluging the 3 devices in. However on trying to select them in game controllers. I get the same thing as you. I've even created another admin account to no avail :( This all seems crazy seeing as vista lets me access Admin Tools and create holy havoc in there ;)

Hi Goober Same prob here re: game controllers, I even created a new admin account but no dice. Wierd as vista allows me to use admin tools and create havoc LoL. Strange thing is when I plugged my 3 USB CH devices in vista seemd to find all without a hitch. "your device is ready to use... blah". None are listed in game controllers however :(

Did you try to temporaty turn off UAC (User account Control)?[requers reboot].
It's sometimes help me when similar message appear (you must logon as administrator, when i actualy loged on as administrator). When they will be installed/listed then you can again turn on UAC.[this to requers reboot]. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ P.S. Sorry for this "requers". It's problems with my english.

ajd has the answer---disable 0r turn off user account control--go into help & type user account control --or in "RUN" type secpol.msc & near the bottom disable one of the user account controls try one at a time . requires restart. -- mike

To disable UAC, go to User Accounts (as Administrator) -> Change Security Settings -> Uncheck User User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer.
